  • Applying a mixture of potato juice with cucumber juice proves to be quite effective in treating puffiness of eyes along with dark circles.
  • Cooled tea bags too help a lot in revitalizing the area under your eyes.

For Hair Loss

  • Hair loss is normally caused by stress and diet.

Apply warm olive oil on your scalp and massage your scalp for 5 minutes, take a towel and wet it with warm water and wrap it around your head. Leave it on for 5 minutes and wash your hair with a gentle shampoo.
For Oily Skin
  •  Once a week apply a Clay or Mud Mask (Multani Mitti) on your face. Most experts believe that clay and mud masks can temporarily pull oil from the pores and also shrinks the pores.
For Dandruff
  • Warm some olive oil or coconut oil and massage into your scalp, then wash your hair with warm water and a gentle shampoo. This helps with dandruff.
For Dark Circles

  • Take used and chilled tea bags or cucumber and apply on the closed eyes to temporarily reduce dilated and discolored blood vessels.
  • Every evening before going to bed apply plain yogurt under the eye for 10 minutes and then wipe it off with a soft wet cloth. The lactic acid in yogurt helps to lighten the pigmentation.

  • When removing your eye make-up, make sure you use a soft cloth or cotton pads, do not pull or scrub the skin around the eyes as it is very delicate and any rough treatment will traumatize the skin which in turn will produce more pigmentation.

  • Get extra sleep and eat lots of berries, bright colored fruits and vegetables (as they have antioxidants) and drink plenty of water as dehydration is another cause of dark circles. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses every time you go out in the sun.

For Blemishes

Here are two home made mask recipe options you could try:

Yogurt Mask

  • Plain Yogurt (Curd/Dahi) 2 tbp,
  • Honey 1 tsp
  • Whole oats/oatmeal (Porridge/Dalia) 1 tbp

Mix the above and apply on your face as a mask for 15 minutes, take a little warm water and wash your face using the oatmeal as a mild scrub. Do this once or twice a week.

The lactic acid in the yogurt is good for lightening blemishes and the honey works as an astringent as well as moisturizes the skin while the oatmeal has natural protein to promote skin growth.

Chickpea Mask

  • Chickpea (gram) flour 2 tbs
  • Honey 1 tsp
  • Lemon/lime juice 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) a pinch

Mix the above with warm water and apply on your face as a mask once or twice a week for 15 minutes.

We suggest choosing one mask from above and try it for 4 to 6 weeks and then switch to the other.

Ensure you're not allergic to these ingredients and if not sure do a spot test for at least a day before applying a full facial mask.
  • Once again wear Sunscreen everyday as the Sun darkens the blemishes making it more difficult for you to treat them later.

For Dry Skin

  • Mash an avocado, add 1 tsp of lemon juice, apply this to your face two times a week to help hydrate the skin. Remove the mask (after 15 mins) using warm water and pat dry.
  • Mash an avocado and add a 1 tsp of honey to it. Apply this mask on the face, leave it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with a gentle cleanser and water. Do this three times a week to help hydrate the skin.
  • Whip some cream and apply to your face three times a week for 15 mins. Wash off with warm water and a gentle cream cleanser.

For Excessive Sweating

  • Use soda bicarbonate (baking soda) under your arms as this absorbs the moisture plus the odor.

  • Soak tea bags in hot water and after it cools down soak in a small towel and wipe your underarms with this. Tanin in the tea shrinks the sweat pores. If you feet sweat a lot then soak them in cool black tea for similar effect.

For Lighten Pigmentation

  • Cut a lemon or lime in half, pour 1 tspn of sugar on one half and rub this on the skin.  Do this twice a week.  Do not apply this on broken or acne skin.

For Dark Underarms

  • Slice a lemon, sprinkle sugar on it and rub on the dark areas, do this daily to notice a difference.
  • Papaya is another good home remedy, mash it and apply it on the affected area and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off. Remember it takes a while before you will see any results from using home remedy.

 For Dry Hair

  • Apply mayonaise on the hair and leave it in for 5 mins. Wash it off with warm water, shampoo and conditioner.
  • Warm some coconut or olive oil and massage this on your scalp and hair, leave it in for at least 10 minutes before you wash your hair.

For Freckles

  • Slice a lemon sprinkle sugar on it and rub this on the skin, over time it will lighten the freckles.

For Skin Glow
  • Egg white and honey face mask: It works wonders, trust me. All you have to do is first mix one egg white with 1 tbsp of honey and after this, apply it evenly over your face extending it to the neck. All you get to see is a glowing bright skin.
  •  Milk and honey mask: It is one of the best formulas to get that instant glow. Take a spoonful of honey and mix at least half cup of fresh milk in it. Now, apply this wonder mask on your face and see the amazing results
For Soft and Smooth Feet

White vinegar: Add few drops of white vinegar to your pedicure solution. A pedicure at home can be done with hot water, lemon juice, glycerin, salt and white vinegar. This pedicure helps in lightening the dark feet and keeps it soft too. Glycerin softens the skin and keeps it moisturised whereas lemon and salt acts as exfoliators.

For Cracked & Rough Heels
  • For treating cracked heels, apply a mixture of candle wax and mustard oil and leave it on overnight to see the difference.
  • Cracked heel is a common problem but trust me, sesame oil works wonders. Apply it on your cracked heels before going to bed and you will fall in love with your feet the very next day.
  • Applying pulp of ripe banana on the affected area helps a lot in fast healing

For Wrinkles:(new)
Mash 2 tablespoons ripe papaya, with 1 tablespoon of gel from the Aloe Vera plant. Apply on face and neck for 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
Masks for people having Oily Skin:(new)
Oily skin is shiny, dull, and is prone to blackheads, pimples and blemishes. Excess oil is produced by the sebaceous glands in this type of skin, which oozes out giving an oily texture to the skin.

  • Mix ½ teaspoon lime and ½ teaspoon cucumber juice and apply on face for ½ an hour before your bath.
  • To clear away excess oil, use Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) with 1 teaspoon honey. Leave on face for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
  • Mix equal parts of lemon juice and water. Pat on your face and allow to dry. Rinse with warm water, followed with a cold water rinse. This can be done twice a day.
  • In a cup of plain yogurt add 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed orange juice and 1 teaspoon carrot juice. Apply on face for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse with tepid water.

Masks for people having Dry Skin: (new)
Several home remedies such as applying moisturizers and lubricating the skin after shower can help to reduce this problem.
  • For a dry skin facial: gently massage I tablespoon of oatmeal on your face and rinse. Then apply a mask by mixing yogurt and ½ mashed banana, by spreading it evenly on your face. Leave on for twenty minutes and rinse.
  • Banana Cream Mask: Mash ½ ripe banana. Add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons sour cream. Apply to skin and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
