SUMMER MAKEUP

From last-all-day eye shadow to mascara that won't run, follow these best beat-the-heat makeup tricks!

To make sure your makeup can withstand the heat this season go on reading ladies.
Summertime is sweaty and sticky, which can wreak havoc on the makeup that took you 20 to 40 minutes to apply "just so" before you left the house.Makeup is important in the summer, not just to even things out, but to keep your face protected from harmful UVA rays. This summer, pack a light makeup bag for summer time.
Whether you are hanging out at the beach or poolside or random day to day living, here are a few makeup tips that will keep you looking your best.

Essential protection
Protect your skin from damage this summer by using a moisturiser with an SPF factor of 15 or higher. Use it daily and you'll help to combat those early signs of aging such as sun spots and fine lines. Remember that you'll be exposed to harmful UVA and UVB rays even on a cloudy day. Apply your SPF moisturiser to a clean face and allow 10 minutes for it to absorb before applying your foundation.

Don't let it melt off
Waterproof mascara, eyeliner and lip liners will help when that big splash of water heads right in your direction, or the great many UVA rays come onto your face to cause sweat. Eye shadows in lighter, neutral shades are perfect for the summer. If it's really hot and you don't want to go to the effort of applying a full make-up, a touch of mascara and a little eye liner will 'open' up the eye and bring your face to life

Lighten up
When the warm weather hits you might find that foundation and powder feels too heavy on your skin. For a fresher, lighter look switch to a tinted moisturizer. For a nice light, even coverage on your face try a tinted moisturizer, you'll be sure to get an even look(I like Aveeno's Positively Radiant tinted moisturizer with SPF 30.)

Skip the lipstick
For lips, ditch the heavy color and try a colored lip balm that's light and moisturizing. I suggest Burt's Bees lip balms and they come in a variety of shades.

Don't forget about your cheeks
Cheeks stains add just the right amount of color to your already sun-kissed face. Tarte Cosmetics makes a nice cheek stain.

Sunscreen
Always, always, always apply sunscreen. Don't forget to apply sunscreen to your hands and ears too. My favorite sunscreen is by Coola Organic Suncare. They also carry a line of sun care products for babies.

Most importantly, with summer just around the corner you've probably been through your wardrobe and dusted down your summer clothes but what about your make-up bag? Now is the time to give it a summer makeover
Have a Happy Summer Ladies ;)
